Meet our team of experienced Ski Leaders! Our team boasts some of Ontario's best talent in ski, snowboard, mountain operations, guest services and winter sport instructors that hold over 50 years of combined industry experience.
Mountain Operations Maintenance Manager
Having grown up just a few kilometers from Horseshoe, the resort became a second home to Paul. What better place to work than in your own back yard? Paul joined the Horseshoe team in 1991. Working in Grooming & Snowmaking Operations he became a strategic part of events, park builds and Snow X over the past twenty years.
With a back ground in business and project management Paul works with a crew of talented of Horseshoe Team members as Mountain Maintenance Manager. Together their goal is to provide you with the best ski and play experience in this beautiful part of Ontario that he calls home.
Director of Recreation
Briana has been a part of the landscape of Horseshoe Resort for many years, as a past participant of the competitive racing program and summer golf programs Briana knows Horseshoe like the back of her hand. Briana started her competitive racing career at the Resort in 1992 where she quickly came to love the sport, racing for the Development Squad through to the U18 as well as competing on the individual circuit for U14 and U16. In the summers she played for the Pepsi Tour Horseshoe team and was Female Junior Club Champion.
Briana first started working at Horseshoe in 2000 as a part time job during the summer, she’s held positions in pretty much every department including: Food and Beverage, Golf, Ski, Guest Services, Kids Korral and Recreation. In her current position as Director of Recreation Briana is responsible for the staffing and operation of the all Recreation Departments.
Briana graduated from Brock University with a Degree in Business Economics. Briana sits on the Recreation Advisory Committee for Georgian College.
Cross Country Ski Coach & Technician
A life-long athlete, Andrew brings over 25 years of experience in Cross Country racing and coaching to Horseshoe Resort. With a passion for developing athletes, Andrew has worked with multiple junior development programs and lead individuals and teams at numerous championships and winter games across Ontario. From selecting the best equipment to race-day waxing, Andrew also brings an extensive knowledge of ski equipment to help bring out the best in athletes. Currently a trained L2T Nordic Coach, Andrew is actively pursuing Competition Development certification. Always an athlete at heart, Andrew can be found competing and having fun as a Masters skier and cyclist
Director of Snow School
Brooke Lidstone joined the team at Horseshoe Resort as the Snow School Director in 2009. She is a teaching CSIA level 3, CSCF entry level coach and CADS level 1. Brooke taught and supervised for 10 years in ski schools across Canada including Whistler, Sunshine, Grey Rocks, Mansfield, Base Borden Ski Club and Snow Valley before joining the teach at Horseshoe. She has also worked for 9 years during the Australian winter seasons as a Snow School Manager at Perisher which the largest ski resort in the Southern Hemisphere.
Brooke graduated with honors in 2003 from the Snow Resort Operations program at Georgian College and was the recipient of the Ontario Snow Resort Association scholarship for academic achievement, leadership involvement in the community. She currently sits on the Industry Advisory Committee for the same program as a member and the past Chair.
Director of Partnerships and Events
Jonathan has more than 15 years experience in the ski resort and event industry. He joined the Skyline Horseshoe team in 2011. Prior to joining the Skyline Horseshoe team he held a number of positions in recreation, marketing, and events with Blue Mountain Resort.
Learning to ski out of the Toronto Ski Club programs, Jonathan was a member of the southern Ontario ski team and attended the National ski Academy. He later went on to pursue a professional career in snowboarding.
In 1995 Jonathan competed in Poland as a member of the Canadian World Jr Snowboard team. From 1996 to 2000 he earned himself a spot on the Canadian National Snowboard Team competing in the US Pro Tour, ISF / FIS World Cup tours and five U.S Opens. In 1996 he won gold at the Canadian National Championships and was awarded the Collingwood Sports hall of Fame award.
Jonathan was the head coach and one of the founding members of the Canadian Special Olympic Snowboard team. He continues to work with the organization and will be heading to Austria in 2016-2017 as a Level 2 FIS TD for the World Games.
Jonathan holds a diploma from Georgian College and currently sits as President of the Board of Directors for Snowboard Ontario.
Cross Country Supervisor
Laurie joined the Cross Country team 3 seasons ago with a wealth of knowledge and experience having worked in all aspects of Hospitality and Tourism for over 20 years. From Housekeeping to Front Desk, Reservations, Food & Beverage Manager, Front Office Manager, Corporate & Wedding Sales.
She is an avid Cross Country Skier who began racing in Public School.
Laurie has her ICC/CC certification and she strives to make each guest experience a positive one and to bring Cross Country to a new level. She las lived in Horseshoe Valley for 14 years and spends most of her time in the Copeland Forest enjoying Fat Biking, Snowshoeing, Cross Country Skiing or Cycling.
Laurie studied Hotel & Tourism Management at Georgian College.
