As a Class ‘A’ Professional graduate from the Golf Management Program at Georgian College, Sue joins us with having over 14 years of experience in the Simcoe County Region. Sue brings a great deal of expertise and enthusiasm to Horseshoe, specializing in coaching, management, event coordination, program development and most importantly, customer service. Sue hopes to contribute to the expansion of the golf programs at Horseshoe by offering up her insight and distinct knowledge of the sport. With a constant drive to help grow the industry, Sue is excited to begin a new endeavour with Horseshoe and will be a great addition to the team.Sue Westwood

Currently attending Georgian College for the Professional Golf Management Program Korey came to Horseshoe on a Co-op program through the College and has worked here for 6 years now. Now a CPGA Professional for 2 years, Korey continues to take training modules to improve his teaching skills and techniques. He especially enjoys working with junior golfers and continuously strives to increase the number of juniors in Horseshoes League. While not on the course or in the Pro Shop working, Korey enjoys organizing and executing tournaments. The goal, Korey says, is to continue furthering his career and to one day become a Head Professional or Director of Golf.Korey Gillanders

New Member Joining Horseshoe Team!
We are pleased to announce that Dave Castellan will be taking the role of Director of Instruction for Skyline Hotels and Resorts. Dave will be splitting his time between Horseshoe and Deerhurst Resorts through the summer months. For this winter Dave will be conducting the first winter golf school program for Horseshoe Resort. This will be a nice introduction for Dave to the Resort and Members in the surrounding area.Dave Castellan first established the Golf Academy in 1999 at Deerhurst Resort. Dave is named one of Canada’s top 50 golf instructors and is a two time nominee for Ontario PGA Teacher of the Year in 1995 and 2008. After a successful stint on the Canadian Tour, Dave joined forces with legendary George Knudson to form their own golf academy and help create the Teaching Manual for future Canadian PGA professionals. Dave’s extensive career continued as he took the role of lead instructor for ESPN Golf Schools based in Scottsdale, Arizona featuring Dean of Instruction Hank Haney, Tiger Woods former swing coach. Dave has provided instruction at several other high profile Ontario courses including Summit in Richmond Hill, the Hunt Club in London, Maple Downs in Maple and Hawk Ridge in Orillia,
Dave’s wealth of knowledge and experience with coaching juniors, seniors and touring professionals has proven him to be an expert in his field. His Coaching technique makes the complex simple and provides for a comfortable and positive learning environment for each individual regardless of one’s skill level.
