Program Hours: 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm (4 hours of lessons daily)
Ages: 8 and 9 years
U10 League is a non-travelling race team for athletes aged 8 and 9 years. This is the entry level division to ski racing where the emphasis is on participation rather than competition. Racers compete as a team, not as individuals to help promote fun, teamwork and a social atmosphere. The programs objectives include developing technical skills (stance and balance, pivoting, edging, rhythm), introducing tactical skills (turn shape, speed) and developing racing skills. Participants train and race in a variety of alpine disciplines including: giant slalom (GS), slalom (SL), paneled slalom (PS), stubbie slalom (stubbie) and kombi (KOM). Helmets (closed eared) are mandatory. The U10 series calendar is scheduled by the home club, which is consistent with the Alpine Ontario Alpin mandate.
Teams are based on results from the Time Trails held on December 31, 2012. Club Championships are held on Saturday March 2, 2013

U12 Division is a traveling competitive race program for athletes aged 10 and 11 years. This is a competitive race program for those graduating from the U10 Division and/or for those new to racing. Racers compete as a team and as individuals to help promote fun, teamwork and a competitive atmosphere. The programs objectives include developing technical skills (stance and balance, steering, pivoting, edging, rhythm), introducing tactical skills (turn shape, line in course) and developing racing skills. Participants train and race in a variety of alpine disciplines including: giant slalom (GS), slalom (SL), paneled slalom (PS), stubbie slalom (stubbie) and kombi (KOM). There likely 3 away races and 1 home race, as well as semi-finals and the potential to attend finals and carnivals. Helmets (closed eared) are mandatory.

New athletes with no race experience can join at this level. Racers still compete as a team and as individuals. The objectives of the program include the consolidation and refinement of technical skills, the development of tactical skills and to have fun! There 3 away races and 1 home race, as well as semi-finals and the potential to attend finals. Athletes compete in both GS and slalom disciplines. Helmets (closed eared) are mandatory.

Team Requests: Request for children to be together with friends must be made in writing, from both families, prior to December 15, 2012. Requests will be considered; however, age and ability will also be important considerations.
