Dave Castellan Director of Golf

 Dave Castellan, Director of Golf Instruction at Deerhurst and Horseshoe Resorts will be conducting the 2nd annual winter golf school program at the Highlands G.C. Clubhouse. The winter program provides private instruction including video swing analysis along with supervision during practice sessions.

Dave Castellan has been Director of Golf Instruction at the Deerhurst Resort since establishing the Academy in 1999 and in 2012 assumed a duel role at Horseshoe Resort. Dave has been named among the top 50 PGA of Canada instructors in the country by the National Post as well as being a two time nominee for Ontario PGA Teacher of the year in 95 and 08. He has worked closely with Canadian golf legend George Knudson along with being the lead instructor for ESPN Golf Schools based in Scottsdale Arizona featuring Dean of Instruction Hank Haney, Tiger Woods former swing coach. Dave is a former Canadian Tour member and served as the first Head Professional at Hawk Ridge GC in Orillia for six years.

Dave`s wealth of knowledge and experience dealing with juniors, seniors and touring professionals along with his communication skills will provide for a comfortable and positive learning environment for each individual regardless of one`s skill level.

Dave is pleased to announce the welcomed addition of Dr.Chad Thompson a local practicing Chiropractor who is an avid golfer and a Horseshoe member. Chad is a  “Titleist Performance Institute” certified level 2 Golf Specialist along with certification in Active Release, Graston Technique and Acupuncture.

TPI is responsible for the resurgence of many PGA tour players and helps diagnose swing faults through orthopedic/functional testing and will assist in the design of specific rehabilitation programs.
