December 27th

On the Hill:

KS – Oakville

Just drove up from Oakville. We have skied here before and really enjoyed it. Nice staff, great slopes and Horseshoe always has snow.

In the cafeteria:

TM – Barrie

Fun Park was great last year! This year’s park needs to be bigger and have some table top jumps. Blow some snow into the half pipe!

The Inn:

MM – Toronto

We always enjoy our stay at Horseshoe. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The ski programs for kids keeps us coming back year after year.

AB – London

Here with our family over the Christmas break for some fun and relaxation from work. Sad to leave ~ had a really great time with the kids. We wish there was more snow but we’re glad Horseshoe is able to make it.

Kids Korral:

DR – Burlington

This is our second time at the Kids Korral. It is a great place for the kids to learn to ski. Instructors are kid-friendly, fun and patient. The kids are having a great time.

December 28th

On Hill:

JM – Midland

Conditions are good today. A bit icy at the bottom of Roundup. It’s great just to be able to come to HVR to board. More snow would be great but for what there is it’s OK.

EF – Windsor

Great to see snow! Skied yesterday and today and conditions are good.

JF – Newmarket

I’m just learning to ski and my Mom and Dad took me to Kids Korral last year and again this year. It’s fun!

Ticket Sales:

KJ – Barrie

Just getting our season pass photos taken. We have skied here for years and love it. Horseshoe is close to home and guaranteed snow!

The Inn:

DT – Oakville

Leaving for home today! We had a great time and definitely will be back again.

Kids Korral:

(Snowboard lesson group – Purple Vests)

· Lessons are fun and snowboarding is cool!

· We’re having pizza for lunch today!!! I love pizza!

· I’m ready to do jumps in the fun park because I took lessons and I’m really good now

A beginner’s experience

Ok so i have worked at the resort for 4 years and counting and for the life of me i could not tell you why it took me so long to get on a pair of skis! i get it for free yet i never used this awesome benefit of working at Horseshoe Resort.

So today for the first time i tried skiing with my girlfriend and it was amazing , it was a lot simpler then i had expected and i had a blast! , I decided it would be a good idea to take a lesson since i have never skied before and i can tell you that within an hour i was up and skiing , turning , stopping and of course mastering the "Snow Plow" , however by this time i was already trying parallel turns and doing quite well at it, by the end of the day i was over at the "Donkey Serenade". After falling a few times and getting over being anxious about a steeper and bigger hill and remembering to really dig my edges in on turns i was doing quite well. All that i can say is thanks to Ian and Brian for hooking me up and well i am definitely hooked now.
