Offered for children age 4-5 that are entering the program for the first time
This 8 week program is based on the Active Start stage of athlete development using a MultiSport approach. The objective of the program is to introduce fundamental movement skills using Nordic skiing and other active play activities as a foundation.

The Jackrabbit Program is offered for children age 6 and up.
This 8 week program is based on the FUNdamentals stage of athlete development using a MultiSport approach. The objective is for children to learn both basic Nordic ski skills (both classic and skate techniques) and to instill a lifelong interest in the sport. Prior ski experience is not necessary.

Track Attack is offered for our skiers 10 and up that have completed the Jackrabbit program
Designed for skiers in the Learning to Train stage of development, the objective is to refine classic and skate technique in an enjoyable environment. A wide variety of skiing activities will be used to develop Nordic skiing skills. Completion of the HMA Jack Rabbit levels or coaches’ assessment is required for participation.

Available for children ages 10 to 16
Designed for beginning skiers, the objective of this 4 week program is to develop basic Nordic ski skills in a fun environment. A wide variety of ski and MultiSport based activities will be used to develop skills and confidence. Skiing experience is NOT required for the program. Upon completion skiers are encouraged to continue in one of our other ski programs.

For young adults / adults ages 16 and over
The Active 4 Life MultiSport ski program is designed for adults 16+ who wish to develop their fitness through cross country skiing and other fitness activities. Participants are encouraged to take part at their own pace as they work with our instructors to raise their ability level. The program will provide instruction for all skiing techniques and is offered to skiers of all levels.

For children ages 10+
HMA Nordic Excellence is a competitive cross-country ski program for athletic children in the Learning to Train and Training to Train stages of LTAD. This program is for skiers interested in pursuing Nordic skiing more intensively as a competitive winter sport. As a team they will learn about goal setting, nutrition, equipment preparation and training for Nordic events including the Ontario Midget Championships. Completion of Jack Rabbits and Track Attack or coaches’ assessment is required for participation.
